Scammed on EBay? Maybe, I don’t know yet

Ok, well it seems like I might have been scammed on that radio. Of course, I’m not out any money, but things are getting worse. The seller got another negative feedback on a similar item. I’m just wondering what is going on, it seems that the seller isn’t profiting from the scams, just pissing people off. Like me, I was pretty psyched about this radio, but now I’m getting kind of annoyed. On the flip side, I’m evaluating what to do if this transaction fails. Although I’ve heard that the Icom IC-706MKIIG is a better radio, I’m looking at the Yaesu FT-857D, basically the same functionality, just, Icom is the better name. The Yaesu FT-857D will run me $689.95 from ham radio outlet, with free shipping, + I’ll get the sixty meter band, not that I can use it yet.

I had to leave some negative feedback for a buyer the other day, I really don’t want to leave it, but sometimes you have to. First, I’ll file a dispute, but really, if it gets that far, it will probably result in me leaving negative feedback, unless, the other side actually comes through.

Icom IC-706MKIIG on Ebay

Against my better judgment, I bought a ham radio on EBay today. For one thing, I don’t really have the money to be spending on a radio, but it was a great deal at $650 brand new in the box. When I tried to pay for it, paypal gave me an error saying that the user couldn’t accept money right now. That is never a good sign. We have exchanged e-mails and I indicated that I would pay when his account was active again. He indicated that his account was suspended when he was orders in the national guard, if true, good enough of an excuse for me. I won’t complete the sale w/o paypal buyer protection. I hope it works out, I really want this radio, if not, that’s ok, like I said, I didn’t really need to spend the money anyway.

Alex Played Outside

It was great, Alex played good by himself in our back yard today. It’s a big thing, I bought this house because it had the fenced back yard so the kids could play without us hovering over them constantly. While Andrew doesn’t seem to like the back yard, Alex got a chance to play outside today while Amy made dinner and I was on the computer. He is getting so big, actually playing on his own in the back yard, its great.

Swing Set

On Saturday, Amy and I went to my sister’s house to help build Aaron’s swing set. He got it for his birthday back in February. It has been in a box in their garage since then and Robin organized a cookout slash work party and invited us, our parents, and several friends over to help build it. It was a fun job, and it turned out nice. It would have been a little better if we would have had Alex this weekend so he could have enjoyed playing on the swing set after it was built. That’s ok, I’m sure he will get to play on it sometime this summer.
