I Hate ScriptLogic

Once again, I'm working late on an issue with a software package that is way more complex than what it needs to be. Back before Windows 2000 and Group Policies, it was fairly useful, but now, it is just a lot of overhead. And when it doesn't work right, it takes forever to troubleshoot and fix. An actual logon script would be a lot easier to manage in the long run, if it didn't work, you could open the script in your favorite text editor and find the line that it was causing the error, and fix it.

My post was a bit of a rant, do you guys have some sort of blog engine search for your product name or something?

Mostly frustration because I expected that calling support before the upgrade and verifying the procedure would help me avoid problems like I had the last time scriptlogic was updated. I don't remember who I spoke with the first time, but after the problems started, I spoke with Sandi K. regarding case number 20070118017. Working with Sandi on the issue was a good experience, but having to call for additional support because the product was giving my customers errors when logging on and not mapping their drives correctly after discussing the proper procedures for upgrading the product with support just a few hours before was frustrating.

It looks like all of the issues are resolved, of course, the real test will be Friday morning when everyone logs on.

Thanks,
Joe

I had the same issue, but what had happened is the credential on the domain server had expired. Once i resoled that the service started on the Domain server and resolved the global variable error. be sure to make sure all services are running.
